Participating in parades is a part of the patriotism fun in the chapter. How special is this 1930 Model A Ford with its rumble seat?

We make learning fun. For example: A. "Jeopardy-style categories on this board." Q. "What are Historic Preservation, Patriotism, Education, DAR's core missions?"

Chapter members collect personal care and other items for veterans and twice yearly work at a stand down to distribute them.

Teaching area students about the only woman whose name is on the Declaration of Independence is one of many ways the chapter helps students. Let us know if you'd like for us to speak at a school or other organization. We have speakers on a variety of subjects and they're all interesting, interactive, and fun.
Promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism
 with fun and friendship.
Welcome to the Ann Washington Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), website in the Greater Skagit Valley Region, known for its tulips and daffodils, fertile farmland, natural beauty, quaint towns, waterfront communities, wildlife, tourism, and so many wonderful things to experience.

The chapter officially meets from September through May but has a plethora of activities and service projects all year long appealing to a variety of interests and skills. Ours is a growing and dynamic chapter established in 1921, named in honor of George Washington's great-grandmother. Our active members  hail from all over the Northwest including British Columbia. We also have members from out of state and out of the area within Washington State.

Our active members range from ages 18 to 99, and every decade in between as there is something each age group enjoys.  They come from a variety of backgrounds and interests having grown up all over the U.S. and some from all over the world as military families. They are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating youth, and honoring and supporting those who have served and are serving our nation.

Ann Washington's non-mandatory meetings are fast-paced and fun as well as educational.
